The project involves the reconstruction of two listed buildings (ΚΤ Ι and ΚΤ ΙΙ), and the addition of a new 3-storey building (ΚΤ ΙΙΙ) for an all day primary school (300 students capacity).

Building ΚΤ Ι (1932, architect Spiridon Leggeris) is of simple, abstract form dating back to 30s, building KT II is a typical example of 70s architecture.

The design aimed at the creation of an operationally uniform building complex with common elements highlighting its unity, while at the same time the period of each architectural phase is distinct.

The new building (ΚΤ ΙΙΙ) is of contemporary architectural design and it is situated to the west as extension to building ΚΤ (Ι).

The connection is achieved, both in operation and in form through a 3-storey metal "neck" in a distinct recess, with glazed facades. The south façade is shaded with metal louvres, each with a different colour resembling a rainbow.

The interior design of the new building (KT III) is characterised by elements of vivid colours (i.e. doors and windows, louvres, niches at the guardrail of the atrium and the stairwell) making space attractive and friendly to its young users.

Passive energy systems have been incorporated (shading louvres, double skin ventilated façade etc)

The landscape was designed to be pleasant and friendly for the games of the students and to be fully accessible to the disabled.

Different vegetation zones were formed on sloping grounds among which colourful kiosks and sitting areas were designed. Flowers and fruit trees were added to the rich pine trees grounds.
